Show opens June 4, 2010 and runs through the summer

Sandra and Laura met in a drawing class in 2004 while pursuing

their MFA degrees in painting at Hunter College in New York City.

Both artists had arrived in NYC around the same time (2000),

with Sandra coming from Medellin and Laura from the Boston area.

When Sandra offered Laura the opportunity to travel with her to visit

her native city of Medellin, she gladly accepted and in December 2008

they spent two weeks in the Medellin neighborhood of Itagui at Sandra's

childhood home. Alumbrados was realized shortly after their return and

was a first collaboration for both artists.
